Today I want to share one of my favorite shows, Arrested Development. I first watched this a while back during the covid quarantine. Back then I watched a lot of shows because of all my free time. In my opinion, I think that it is the funniest comedy show I've ever watched because of the characters and the situation they get themselves into. I also like how there is no laugh track(thank god!)
First off, it is a sitcom that starts when George Bluth Sr. gets arrested for stealing money for his company, Bluth Company. This leads to his son, Michael Bluth, having to stay with his spoiled family to keep them together and try to get his father out of jail. The family consists of many distinct personalities and takes place in Newport. This is cool for me because I am from there and I love to say in my head,"Oh-oh, I've been there before!" The first 3 seasons are the best in my opinion. It was canceled after the third season on the network but was rebooted on Netflix. I feel like Netflix didn't capture the original energy of the first 3. If you haven't watched this show yet, watch it!! It's on Netflix (if you still have it) and I think that the first 3 seasons are on Hulu( the best seasons).
Since buying my car, I've made many improvements to the car in the past couple of weeks I've had it. When I first got it, the brakes were barely working and not drivable. After a trip to the shop, it is running great but needs more work. I also did a lot of cosmetic fixes like replacing the center dash bezel because the previous owner punched it in a fit of rage( I didn't ask him what made him that mad). I replaced the headlights and plan on replacing all of the exterior lights to make it look more modern. Next week, the 4runner is going back to the shop because the car is leaking oil.
On Friday, Smashing Pumpkins were in town and I got to go to the concert. I didn't really know about the concert until lunch that day. My friend had an extra ticket from his dad and offered me one. It was my first live performance in a couple years and I had a great time during the show. There was a lot of energy at the show and Billy Corgan's voice still sounded great. The band overall did a great show, they played a lot of newer songs that I didn't recognize but they were still good. My favorite was when they did Tonight, Tonight but did it acoustically. Overall, I had a great day and a great weekend.
After Friday, I went down to Newport Beach to see my family down there. It has been a while since I've been down there and it was good to see my grandparents and cousins again. It was a short trip, with us arriving before 10 on saturday. It was pretty rough for me because I was tired from the day before. All we really did was have lunch, go on a boat ride, hangout with the family, and have dinner.
Another one of my favorite shows is community. I watched this one a while ago like Arrested Development. I love the cast of characters and how they are so different from each other but end up bonding, reminds me of the Breakfast Club. I love the parodies they do in the shows, especially the paintball episode. Most seasons have a paintball episode that is a parody of a popular movie or theme, like star wars, action movies, and old western. One thing that I like about the show is how abstract and creative it is. For example, in one of the Christmas special episodes, they use claymation for the whole episode. They also did an episode with the characters as sock puppets and one with them in a video game. I think the quality of the show dropped a little in the 5th and 6th season, but it is still a great watch.
